The other Sunday fixture that captured the footballing world’s attention was, of course, the Caribou Cup final between Manchester United and Newcastle United. Despite Newcastle’s rapid rise since in the rankings since last season, they were no match for a Manchester United side soaring since Erik Ten Hag took over. Ten Hag has now secured his first silverware for United within just nine months of the job.
