I had the Boks beating the Lions in the first Test in the dying minutes and had it not been for a referee interpretation in the 82nd minute it may have unfolded that way.
Margins are fine in big matches and even finer in sports betting.
Who wins this weekend?
It is a tough call because I don’t think much separates the two teams. I know there was a lot of controversy surrounding the match officials, especially Marius Jonker as the TMO, in the first Test, and who knows how these match officials will react to the pressure, given the release of the Rassie Erasmus video highlighting so many decisions that went against the Springboks.
I think leadership will again be huge and Alun Wyn Jones was massive for the Lions in the first Test. I am expecting the Springboks to be better for the experience of the first Test. They have played 80 more minutes of Test rugby and their backs are against the wall.
I have the Boks to win, only just, but it is a call based on a belief that the players emotionally and passionately will empty the tank.
But as I keep on saying, the margins are small, and Saturday’s Test margin will be as small as one score.
