Hey folks, this weekend promises to be a humdinger of a Super Bowl weekend as the (14-3) Philadelphia Eagles square off against the (14-3) Kansas City Chiefs.
Both teams are #1 seeds in their respective conferences and this matchup has created so much hype I fear it may not live up to the billing. Many finals don’t and I have a bad feeling for the Chiefs in this game.
Those that follow me know I have been a Chiefs fan since 1982 but I never bet with my heart.
For me, this game is a battle between the best player in the NFL – Patrick Mahomes – and the best team in the NFL, which in my opinion is the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Eagles defence includes monsters who will wreak havoc all day and put pressure on Mahomes who is less than 100% fit for this game. Haason Reddick, Javon Hargrave, Josh Sweat and Brandon Graham combined for 49 sacks, which is the 3rd highest total in NFL history. This defence is the league’s best, allowing only 178 yards passing per game and they have surrendered only 14 points in the postseason.
Jalen Hurts had a breakout year and if not for missing two games in the latter part of the season could easily be the NFL’s most valuable player. He completed 67% of his passes, ran for an incredible 700 yards and scored 13 rushing touchdowns.
I think he will be impossible to stop.
My bet is for R2000 to win back R3750 that Philadelphia win this game over 60 minutes of play.
