Failure from the Springboks and comforting entertainment from the Premier League weekend seems to be becoming a trend, writes the MoneyMan in his weekend wrap.
I said on my Facebook page early Saturday morning that is pains me to be right about a Springbok loss, and despite knowing it was coming, I could noit bring myself to bet on it. Earlier in the week myself and SA Rugby Mag editor were in agreement that a Springbok team selection with some glaring oversights, under the management of Jacques Nienaber, was not going to be the side that broke the Australian curse.

In some of the worst Springbok rugby played in a long time, the Boks disappointed every fan who woke up for the 7:30 AM kickoff. Compare the two squads and that Aussie side should never have been 25-17 victors. To be fair, we said the same a couple of weeks ago against the All Blacks. The performance of this Springbok team is so unbecoming of the quality of player they have.
At least the All Blacks were around to put things into perspective as Argentina stuck them away 25-18 in their backyard! It was Argentina’s first win in New Zealand and they were emphatically the better team on Saturday. Highlight of my betting weekend was a little R300 tickle on the Pumas to upset the All Blacks at odds of 11/1. R3300 later and happy days! Some savvy chap in my comments took a 28/1 on Australia and Argentina to win. Well done mate, must have been a good Saturday night after that!
Man United came through for me too with their win over Southhampton, but unfortunately Newcastle could not do the deed over Wolves. In my video with Ollie last week we both said the odds of 2.55 on an unbeaten Newcastle side to win against Wolves was too good an offer to not take, but unfortunately an early goal conceded meant they drew 1-1.

No betting on the Liverpool game, just pure amazement. There is no more emphatic way to respond after such a terrible start to their season, and though they dropped points in the first few rounds, at least they’ve made up their goal difference in just one 90 minute shift. (9-0 against Bournemouth by the way, for those who may have somehow missed it)
Great to have sport full on, every weekend. I won’t easily forget the days of no sport and then empty stadiums, so I’m always appreciative of weekends like this.
We’ll be shooting some more on Premier League this week, have a good one folks.
