Who doesn’t love a perfect weekend in betting? Looking back on 7/7 is simply beautiful in my books, and more gratifying than the financial return of successful bets, is the satisfaction of having made those bets, and the affirmation that the thinking behind the calls was educated.
The success of this past weekend was even sweeter as it marked my return from a business trip that had seen me a bit silent on the betting front. I looked to American Football and Soccer primarily this weekend and saw a good return on my NFL bets, predicting Indianapolis vs Houston to score a combined total of under 50 points, and for the Carolina Panthers and New Orleans Saints to score a combined total of over 43.5 points. I was happy to see success too, in a sporting love of mine, which is college football, as Penn State vs the Ohio State Buckeyes kept the scoring low, at under 59 points, as expected.
While the Money Boy had a rather tough intro to his first weekend of soccer betting, which we’ll be discussing later in the week, I never doubted that Spurs would nail a win following Mourinho’s appointment and that an under Strength Barcelona side would still be too strong for Leganes. I also looked to the most ill disciplined La Liga side, in Getafe, to book more cards than their opposition Espanyol. A no brainer when one considers that Espanyol had only 26 yellow cards in comparison to Getafe’s 45 and that referee Pablo Fuertes averages at issuing six yellow cards per game. A close bet in the end, but it came off and I’ll happily take it. Safest of the soccer bets perhaps, was Levante to topple RCD Mallorca, who had failed to score in 80 percent of their matches on the road, losing all 5 of their competitive ones away, while Levante had lost just 1 of their five home games.
And so my first weekend back following my trip was a happy one for my betting peace of mind and a happy one for the funds that I run for my followers. The Money Boy and I will be meeting later in the week to chat soccer, as he looks to immerse himself in the sport, as well as a little bit of NFL. Happy betting this week, folks.
